The Yankees returned to the top of the organization standings for the first time since 2008. This time their eight domestic affiliates combined to win 60.2 percent of their games. That’s the highest organization winning percentage in at least the past 10 years, and it translates to 98 wins when ported to a 162-game schedule.

Seven of the Yankees’ eight domestic affiliates qualified for the playoffs, every one from Triple-A down to the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League and excluding only one of the organization’s two GCL affiliates. Four Yankees affiliates advanced to the league finals, but only the GCL Yankees East brought home the trophy.

Hurricane Irma bore down on Florida and the Southeast in early September, scuttling the championship series in the Carolina, Florida State and Southern leagues. In all three instances, co-champions were declared.
